Validated testing of the biocompatibility of medical devices to DIN EN ISO 10993 — in vitro instead of in animal testing, following the 3R principle: cytotoxicity, skin irritation and sensitisation, genotoxicity, haemocompatibility, endotoxins and pyrogens as well as the chemical characterisation of extracts.
