Schmid Medizintechnik GmbH was founded in Tuttlingen in 1890 as Schneider Chirurgie-Mechanik and is based today in Wurmlingen. Decades of experience, craft tradition and modern production technologies stand for a high quality standard at competitive prices; quality management is certified to DIN EN ISO 9001 and DIN EN ISO 13485.
The company manufactures delicate microsurgical instruments for ophthalmology, micro and neurosurgery and ENT — glaucoma punches, micro needle holders, micro scissors, micro forceps, calipers and compasses, bulldog clamps — from surgical stainless steel and titanium, many of them to customer requirements and with customer-specific marking. Its staff master traditional handwork as well as machining centres, grinding machines and laser welding equipment; CAD-supported development and production planning form the basis.
On 5-axis machining centres from Haas and Chiron, milled parts in stainless steel, brass, titanium and aluminium are also produced to sample, sketch or drawing for medical technology, endoscopy and mechanical engineering — economically in batch sizes from 20 to 1,000 pieces. In 2016 the company received the research seal.
