Ideenschmi3De is the development studio of Waldemar Pelz from the Medical Valley — a trained CNC programmer with further qualifications as a design engineer and industrial technician. The studio produces comprehensible technical foundations for medical devices that can be used in the subsequent process steps: manufacturing, validation, technical documentation, the design history file and design control documents as well as coordination with quality management or regulatory affairs.
Existing samples, components and instruments are captured with Keyence metrology — as the basis for reverse engineering, CAD reconstruction and dimensional inspection. On the basis of scan, measurement or customer data, parametric CAD models are created in SolidWorks with an eye to function, manufacturability and assembly logic; visualisations are produced with Keyshot.
The studio uses additive manufacturing as a tool for better medical devices and processes: prototypes, exhibition models, industrial components, anatomical models and fixtures with technology-appropriate design, compliant material with traceable batches and a network of partners certified to ISO 9001 and ISO 13485. Where function, tolerances and operating conditions permit, additive manufacturing can replace CNC components.
