OTEC Präzisionsfinish GmbH was founded in 1996 in Straubenhardt near Pforzheim and has developed from a start-up making polishing machines for the jewellery and watch industry into a globally active technology leader for grinding and polishing systems. The medium-sized company employs around 150 people and develops and manufactures its machines in Germany.
The range comprises mass finishing machines — disc finishing, drag finishing and stream finishing machines as well as trough vibrators —, electro finishing machines for electrochemical polishing, separation systems and the matching process media for wet and dry processing. In medical technology they are used to deburr, radius, grind and polish surgical instruments, implants and dental products.
OTEC supplies not just the machine but the process: every machine comes with a documented procedure including the appropriate grinding and polishing media and compounds. A worldwide dealer network and service complete the offering; the company trains skilled staff at its site.
