HIPP medical AG, based in Kolbingen in the district of Tuttlingen, specialises in cutting tools for bone machining: bone drills, taps and bone cutters as well as further orthopaedic instruments. Manufacturing is carried out specifically to customer requirements with a high degree of vertical integration; in addition, an extensive standard range is available.
The roots go back to 1993, when Markus Hipp began producing prototypes and designs for medical implants and instruments and founded Hipp Präzisionstechnik. Decisive for the function of the tools is the execution of the cutting edges — the geometries are matched using fine sensor technology to breaking forces, torque and heat generation.
