Forécreu is the worldwide specialist for thick-walled single-hole and multi-hole bars. Since 1952 the French family business has developed around an industrial process unique in the world — hot pressing, hot and cold rolling and hot and cold drawing at two French plants — and is valued today by more than 400 customers in medicine, machining and industry. Forécreu Deutschland GmbH in Saarbrücken serves the German-speaking market.
In orthopaedics the hollow bars are a central starting material for implants (screws and nails) and cannulated instruments used with Kirschner wires — for traumatology, extremities, spine, sports medicine and dentistry. In addition, Forécreu supplies tubes and pre-treated solid bars in martensitic, PH martensitic and austenitic stainless steel as well as titanium alloys for drills, cutters, taps, screwdrivers and reamers; an in-house polymer division manufactures bioresorbable and non-resorbable implants by injection moulding.
Between incoming raw material and dispatch there are often more than 30 production steps with numerous inspection and testing stages. Quality management is certified to ISO 9001 and ISO 13485; global stock and a US warehouse ensure short delivery times, and an online feasibility simulator assists with design.
